Canada Study Visa with SDS Category
Who is eligible for SDS?
To be able to apply for a study permit via SDS, you’ll have to
fulfil certain conditions, such as
-
Acceptance from a post-secondary designated learning institution (DLI)

Tuition fee paid for your first year of study
-
Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD10,000
-
Minimum score of 6 in IELTS with no band less than 6 or a TEF (Test d’évaluation de français – French language proficiency test) score that is equal to a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least 7 in each skill (reading, writing, speaking and listening)
If You Meet The Criteria, You’ll Have To Submit The Following Documents:

Letter of acceptance from a DLI College Only

Proof of payment of tuition fee for your first year of study

Proof of Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) payment (certificate/letter of attestation)

IELTS TRF or TEF scorecard
-
Copy of your medical examination from an authorized panel of doctors

Relevant academic background with complete academic documents.

Additional requirement of CAQ for students intending to study in Quebec.
STAY BACK PERIOD IN CANADA AND POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT:

A student needs to pursue a course for a minimum duration of 8 months to be eligible to stay back in Canada.

Course less than 8 months does not allow a student to stay back or apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit.

For a post-graduation work permit a student needs to pursue a course of:

Duration of less than 2 years, then he/she is eligible for a post-graduation work permit of equivalent duration as the course. Example: 8 months course = 8 months post-graduation work permit.

If the student pursues a 2-year course (masters or diploma), he/she is eligible for a post-graduation work permit of 3 years. Example: 2 years masters/diploma course is equal to 3 years post-graduation work permit
